Founded by vocalist and sitarist Om Guha, the Foundation is built around the belief that music can create moments of connection, reflection, and harmony. Rooted in Hindustani classical music and shaped by a lifetime of musical training and live performance, we bring sitar, voice, and Indian musical tradition into contemporary spaces and to audiences around the world. This is not about preserving tradition behind glass. It is about living it, performing it, evolving it, and allowing people to experience what it can mean today.

Sitar for Harmony Foundation uses live performance, original music, artistic collaboration, and cultural programming to create experiences centered on reflection, emotional connection, cultural identity, and shared humanity. Through sitar, voice, Hindustani classical music, contemporary production, and collaborations across genres and cultures, we introduce audiences to the depth of Indian musical tradition while exploring how that tradition can resonate within modern life. The goal is not simply to perform Indian classical music. It is to demonstrate how its sound, emotion, improvisation, and philosophy can speak to people regardless of generation, background, or geography.
Founder & Artistic Vision
Om Guha
For Om Guha, Sitar for Harmony is inseparable from a life spent making music. Classically trained in Hindustani music and experienced as a live performer, Om works across voice and sitar while drawing creative inspiration from Indian classical music, Bollywood, R&B, hip-hop, house, cinematic music, and contemporary global production. His artistic vision is not to choose between tradition and modernity. It is to make them speak to one another.
A raga can exist beside electronic production. A sitar can interact with R&B harmony or a house rhythm. Classical vocal technique can inform contemporary songwriting. An ancient musical vocabulary can become part of an entirely new sound.
More than a performance
Music can become a moment of stillness.
A concert can be entertainment. But music can also become a moment in which hundreds or thousands of people become completely still. A melody can remind someone of home. A raga can create a moment of introspection. A familiar song can reconnect generations. An unfamiliar instrument can become someone’s first encounter with another culture. Those moments are what Sitar for Harmony exists to create.
The Foundation seeks to bring these experiences to concert stages, universities, cultural institutions, community spaces, digital audiences, and collaborative projects across the United States, India, and eventually the world.

We envision Sitar for Harmony becoming an international artist-led platform where performance, culture, contemporary creativity, and human connection intersect. The long-term vision extends beyond individual concerts to original music, major live performances, S.I.T.A.R. Sessions, collaborations across musical traditions, partnerships with cultural and educational institutions, performances supporting communities, and a growing international audience connected through music.
The Foundation exists to honor where the music came from while helping imagine where it can go next. Where tradition resonates forward.
