Om Guha is the founder of Sitar for Harmony Foundation and a 22-year-old New Jersey–based Hindustani classical vocalist and sitar player. Trained in the Gwalior and Maihar gharanas from a young age, he brings sitar and voice traditions into conversation with contemporary music shaped by Bollywood, R&B, hip-hop, house, cinematic music, and global production. Om performs semi-classical, patriotic, devotional, and light music in multiple Indian languages, and has appeared at Madison Square Garden, Hard Rock Arena, and Mahalakshmi Studios. His media appearances include Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs, TV Asia, and Mana TV. Through Sitar for Harmony, Om seeks to bring the emotional depth and improvisational character of Indian classical music to contemporary settings and audiences who may never otherwise encounter it. His developing original work explores how ragas, Indian instrumentation, electronic production, and contemporary songwriting can exist within one musical language. He also integrates music into research at Penn Medicine Plainsboro and has organized fundraising concerts supporting COVID-19 relief and free eye surgeries. Through live performances, original music, collaborations, and artist-led cultural initiatives, Om aims to create moments of reflection and connection while carrying Indian musical traditions into new genres, spaces, and generations.
